A Pretty Good Hurricane Relief Idea
The AFA has come up with the idea of collecting people's RV's and donating them to people who lost their homes in Katrina:
The American Family Association, based in Tupelo, Miss., has launched the RV-donation drive to provide housing for victims along the Mississippi Gulf Coast....This could be organized in local towns everywhere. There are a lot of used RV's out there, and this does seem like a way to really help some families effectively. Please consider trying something of the sort in your area, especially if you have evacuees. The number of homeless people is well over a million. It may be around 3 million. That would work out to about 1 to 2 homeless people out of every 200 people in the US. This is a staggering number.
"We are able to give people temporary homes of their own, and then they can resell the RV and have the money as equity for their permanent home," Lankford said. "Not many are thinking long-term, and this is one way that we can provide for families on a long-term basis."
"Families who want to go back and rebuild their homes can take the RV with them to live in during the building process, and families who want to relocate can travel in the RV to find a fresh start in a new place," Lankford said. "Thousands of homeless families are living in shelters across the country, and the opportunity for them to own an RV provides long-term hope for getting back on their feet."

Minh-Duc, there have been many proposals. One of the problems is that we don't want to isolate people from surrounding communities. People need jobs, etc. Some locations will work but others won't.
I think it is a good possibility.
