London Bombings, Redux
The Strata-Sphere has the best coverage I have seen of London. See all the updates here.
BBC.
This is a very interesting development because the explosions were just the detonators. It sure seems like a "we could have if we had wanted to" threat.
Funniest (and saddest) quote (this is from The Strata-Sphere, link to source):

Funniest (and saddest) quote (this is from The Strata-Sphere, link to source):
“We all got off on the platform and the guy just ran and started running up the escalator,” one witness who gave her name as Andrea told the BBC.Well, honey, why didn't you trip him? Could you be more uselessly passive? Courtesy is all very well in most circumstances, but has all ability to react protectively in case of attack vanished from the London population? This guy made it out through a crowded tube station! Everyone screaming for someone to do something is not going to get the job done. I guarantee it would have been different in New York.
“Everyone was screaming for someone to stop him. He ran past me … and he ran out of the station. In fact he left a bag on the train,” she said.

A proactive response requires proactive thinking- and that is one thing that is in short supply.
Blame the media.
Blame the media.
Nonetheless, it is an alarming passivity under the circumstances. This goes to show what the philosophy of "let the authorities handle it" can lead to.

I saw the video clip on the news hour last night. He was french... 'nugh said.
