More Climate Dorkiness

Here is an admirably clear Tech Central Station article detailing Dr. Tim Patterson's 2004 presentation. And here's a Real Climate attempt to rebut the claim of a close recent correlation between solar activity and temperature. It has lots of graphs, such as the historic CO2 versus temperature graph:
Obviously CO2 hasn't tracked with temperatures well. Here's the recent CO2/Sunspot/Temp graph:
Anyway, the truth is that we will get to watch and see who is wrong and who is right. CO2, in the short term, will keep rising. As we track the solar variation it will become clear whether CO2 is a significant forcing factor or not, and no amount of squabbling over bristlecones will stop this real world experiment.
