Indonesian Bird Flu (H5N1) Update # 6

See previous updates linked in Update # 5.

A nurse in the main hospital in Jakarta treating bird flu cases is now being treated for bird flu. There is no confirmation by testing yet, but this is a disturbing finding. See this CurEvents.com thread.

The problem with theorizing that the nurse, who was not in close contact with birds, caught it from birds is that only about 100 to 110 suspect cases have been confirmed. The human population in Indonesia lives in extremely close proximity to birds. If the virus is spreading to people who just live close to birds, there should be thousands of cases. I think we are still deep in the land of denial with regard to H5N1.

Recombinomics commentary.
