Well, Well, Well

Update: In VA, Webb is ahead by @ 8,560 votes with 99.75% of the vote counted. 49.58%/49.22%. I don't know whether that includes absentee/provisional ballots. In MT, Tester has 49.52%, Burns has 47.91%, so Tester seems to have it. End update.

This looks as if even the Senate is going over, because both Webb in Virginia and Tester in Montana are leading. If they both win, that makes the Senate D-51, R-49. It is going to be a difficult few years, to be sure, for the military, the country and for the Democrats, who are now going to have to do something and take responsibility for the results.

If it weren't for the fact that there's a multiple-front war on, I'd actually be looking forward to the ensuing spectacle, because it is going to be very, very hard for the Dems to switch over to governing mode from opposition mode. The L/MIHOPpian opposition is going to want blood. Can they keep this beast chained in the cellar? They have fed it and nurtured it until it has grown very strong.... I suppose it depends on the overall quality of the Dems in the Senate and the House.

On the bright side, some exceedingly elderly Supreme Court justices can now retire. I am sure they are relieved at no longer having to defy both gravity and time.
