TEPCO Reporting Very High Radioactivity Levels At Fukushima Daiichi

I can't find many links, but there has been a lot of chatter. Here's Bloomberg Businessweek:
Geiger counters, used to detect radioactivity, registered more than 10 sieverts an hour, the highest reading the devices are able to record, Junichi Matsumoto, a general manager at the utility, said today. The measurements were taken at the base of the main ventilation stack for reactors No. 1 and No. 2.
There has been continued quake activity. How shall I put this? A radiation level that high would indicate that extremely radioactive substances have, er, exited containment. The theory that this is residual seems dubious - this is a chronology at MIT in the week after the catastrophic tsunami, and at that time ventilation through the stack was not producing very high radioactivity readings.

It is possible that some of the latest shakes disturbed debris and exposed pre-existing radioactive debris. I don't have a link, but supposedly the cited measures were taken by pole. Of course, TEPCO has found highly radioactive debris at the site during the course of the cleanup before remaining from the explosions. 10 sieverts an hour is VERY high on the OUTSIDE of a pipe, though. I didn't post about this before because I didn't believe it!

Another article.

The world is just a mess.

MOM,

You'll be (un)happy to see the Real GDP per Capita charts.

Spork - hard not to agree.

Mark, the second one in particular is very telling.

Unfortunately, the message is pure evil.

MOM,

Exorcise the messenger!

Rid me of these evil spirits!
